Balanced Birth Foundations is a comprehensive childbirth education course designed to prepare you for labor, birth, and the early postpartum period with clarity, confidence, and flexibility. Rooted in Lamaze principles and evidence-based care, this course focuses on understanding how birth works, what choices you may encounter, and how to navigate them within real-world hospital settings.
Rather than promoting one “right” way to give birth, this course emphasizes informed decision-making, physiologic birth, and respectful, collaborative care. We explore both unmedicated and medicated birth options, common interventions, partner support, and the emotional realities of labor — all in a supportive, judgment-free environment.
The goal is not to control birth, but to help you feel prepared, grounded, and actively involved in your care, no matter how your birth unfolds.

A comprehensive postpartum preparation class focused on the physical, emotional, and practical realities of life after birth. While much of pregnancy preparation centers on labor, this course intentionally shifts the focus to recovery, adjustment, and the early weeks of parenthood.
Topics include physical healing, emotional changes, feeding expectations, sleep patterns, newborn behavior, and the mental load of early parenting. We discuss what is normal, what may be challenging, and when additional support is needed. This class emphasizes realistic expectations, self-compassion, and building systems of support that extend beyond the immediate postpartum period.
The goal is not to create a perfect postpartum experience, but to reduce shock, normalize adjustment, and help families feel informed and supported during a time of major transition.
Who it’s for:
Expectant parents and families
First-time parents especially
Anyone wanting practical, honest postpartum education
Partners and support people are encouraged to attend
Course Length: One 3-hour session

Optional Add-On: Infant Safety: Choking & CPR

Balanced Birth Refresher is designed for families who have given birth before and are preparing for a new experience — whether that means a different provider, a different setting, or simply a different season of life. This course offers space to revisit the physiology of birth, refresh practical skills, and integrate past birth experiences into current preparation.
Rather than starting from the beginning, this class meets you where you are. We review key labor concepts, update evidence and hospital practices, and explore how preparation can evolve from one birth to the next. There is intentional space for discussion, reflection, and questions, allowing families to approach this birth with renewed confidence and clarity.
This course recognizes that experience does not eliminate uncertainty — and that thoughtful preparation can look different the second (or third) time around.
Who it’s for:
Parents who have given birth before
Families seeking updated, evidence-based education
Those wanting to process a previous birth experience
Anyone preparing for a different type of birth than before

Balanced Birth Infant Safety: Choking & CPR is a focused, hands-on class designed to help parents and caregivers feel prepared to respond calmly and effectively in an emergency. While most families will never need to use these skills, having the knowledge and practice ahead of time can make a critical difference.
This course covers infant choking prevention, recognition of choking versus gagging, and step-by-step response for choking emergencies. We also review infant CPR fundamentals, including when to initiate CPR, how to perform high-quality compressions and breaths, and how to respond until help arrives.
Education is delivered in a clear, supportive, and non-alarming way, emphasizing preparation over fear. The goal is not to create anxiety, but to build confidence and muscle memory so that if an emergency ever arises, you are better equipped to act.
